Sustainability Policy

Metia recognizes the negative impact businesses can have on the environment. We are committed to finding ways in which we can reduce this impact both within our own business operations and through the services and activities we provide to our clients.

To reduce our own environmental impact, it is our policy to:

Recycle as much waste material as possible.

  • All Metia office locations operate waste recycling and have vendors contracted to remove and recycle applicable office waste materials.

Minimize the use of paper wherever possible.

  • Discourage printing of electronic documents.
  • Ensure printing devices default set up to double-sided printing etc.

Recycle equipment that is no longer of use to the company.

  • Metia participates in regulated charitable giving and re-cycling of redundant IT and electrical devices in-line with regulatory requirements and best practices for electrical and electronic devices.

Minimize energy usage and move to sustainable energy sources.

  • Make use of low energy light bulbs and intelligent light sensors in our facilities, and ensure that computers and other devices are shut down when not in use.
  • Work with our property managers and landlords in different locations to support the adoption of sustainable power suppliers and intelligent facilities management practices.

Procure office products and supplies using recycled or sustainably sourced materials.

Reduce commuting and cut unnecessary business travel.

  • To reduce commuting requirements Metia provides a technical infrastructure, devices and tools, that make all employees capable of working outside the office.
  • Provide HR policies that support and enable effective, collaborative working from any location.
  • Business travel is monitored and reported to ensure only necessary travel is permitted.

Ensure our technology infrastructure is tuned to enable remote working.

  • Provide software tools and services to enable efficient remote working and collaboration between our own teams, as well as with our clients and suppliers
  • Work with our technical infrastructure and business services providers to ensure their commitment to achieve net zero.
  • Evaluate, and if applicable use, tools to measure the carbon footprint of the cloud platforms and products that support our business.

Additionally, we will be alert to the environmental impact of the programs and activities we operate for clients, seeking to design, create and deliver these activities in an intelligent and sympathetic manner.

We expect these policies will evolve over time in-line with changing circumstance and priority but our commitment to become a sustainable business will continue.
