Founder Steve Ellis becomes Group CEO
LONDON - Metia Group, a global B2B marketing agency, has announced that Steve Ellis, founder of B2B marketing agency Metia Group, has handed responsibility for Metia London to Mark Pinsent, who joined the company early in 2013. Ellis remains as Group CEO of the company, which has offices in London, Seattle, Austin and Singapore, with Pinsent becoming Managing Director of the London business.
Metia’s London operation employs more than 60 people delivering customer-centric marketing programmes for its clients. The company’s capabilities cover web and application design and development, email marketing, customer advocacy, media and analyst relations, content, analytics and social media marketing. Founded 26 years ago, Metia’s clients include Microsoft, Dell, Finastra, FIS, Linedata, The AA, British Chambers of Commerce and ITN Productions.
Commenting on the move, Ellis said: “The past quarter of a century has seen a transformation in marketing. Today most companies consider themselves digital businesses. Through our core of technology clients we have enjoyed an insight into how digital, content and social are transforming marketing. Metia has remained relevant throughout this period by remaining focused on how best to engage and inform our client’s customers, using the optimum channel or technique for each audience type.
“I’ve known Mark for more than 12 years, and we’ve always shared a similar outlook with regards to creating and delivering campaigns for our clients, and growing the business entrepreneurially. I was pleased when he joined us last year, and delighted when he accepted the role of London MD.”
Pinsent added: “I was like a kid in a sweetshop when I joined Metia last year. We’ve got all the tools in the marketing toolbox at our disposal. This gives us the opportunity to create the right campaign to meet the objectives of our clients, based on deep understanding of their customers and prospects. Over 26 years the management team here have built a company with the capabilities and client list many others would envy. I’m enormously proud to have been given the chance to head up the London business.”
