SEATTLE – Metia Seattle has been named one of Washington’s ‘Most Equitable Workplaces’ by Puget Sound Business Journal, a first-time list revealed in the November 15 edition of the magazine.
Puget Sound Business Review has recognized Metia Seattle as one of the most equitable places to work in the state of Washington. Using Gender Equity Now’s Gen Index, companies were ranked by an index score comprised of five metrics.
The metrics measured looked at lived experiences between different populations within organizations, efforts by firms to diminish the impact of unconscious bias, programs and policies to increase job satisfaction for employees of all backgrounds, how effective firms are at communicating their commitment to gender equality and how aware employees are of opportunities offered by their employer.
The listed organizations had to meet a 60% threshold across the measured metrics to be included on the list, of which 14 companies, including Metia, did.
Amber Whiteman, Vice President Metia, North America commented: “We’re incredibly proud to have been recognized as one of Washington’s most equitable workplaces. Metia is global marketing agency with offices in London, Austin, Singapore and Seattle so understanding different backgrounds and experiences is part of our DNA – and part of what makes Metia a great place to work.
“The nature of our business means we’re competing with the world’s top tech companies for talent. We realize how important equality is for a lot of top candidates looking at the next step in their career and not having that string to your bow can immediately eliminate you from a candidate’s list of contention. We’ve made concerted efforts to focus on our workplace culture with equality sitting at the heart of any action, making Metia an incubator for creative ideas.”
