Personal pledges for Earth Day 2022

Sustainability requires covering the hard yards of changing how our business runs. And we are on it. 

But it also offers us an opportunity to come together and share our personal initiatives. To celebrate Earth Day 2022, the green team at Metia has created a pledge portal for all our people around the world to share our personal pledges and swap experiences, tips and hints.

Speaking as a newbie electric car driver, that one simple change required adjusting a lifetime of habits and adapting to how mobility works without fossil fuel. For the past few weeks I’ve been hoovering up tips and tricks from people who have already made the transition.

The pledge portal provides exactly the same type of forum for info sharing.

So far the portal has gathered up all types of personal commitments from team Metia around the world. Popular themes are reducing plastic waste, re-using bags, minimizing food waste, cutting down meat intake, swapping the car for the bike, cutting back on detergents and volunteering for local initiatives (learn more on the Earth Day website).

And, just as importantly, it has shared our experiences, best practices and motivations.

Has to be said, this is all personal by the team. Credit to everyone involved, not the business.
